World Replacers
Mods that enhance world (overall) graphics by replacing or adding meshes, textures, etc.
Balmora Retexture by Qarl
Requires Tribunal
Retextures the exterior of Balmora. Almost everything is still in the same place as it was originally, save a few rocks and trees and such, but some additions were made so there may be some incompatibilities with some other Balmora mods. The two main additions are a fountain in front of the Hlaalu Council Manor, and a statue in the large open area by the outfitter and traders when you enter Balmora from the South. Any mods that add something there will conflict with this one.
Better Looking Morrowind by Misty Moon
Converts the Ashlands, Molag Amur, and Red Mountain into places of trees and grass, no longer an endless gray and black land, broken only by the occasional pool of molten lava. Also, all of the trees and tree-like objects in Vardenfell have been replaced with better models, with the exception of the tree models in Bitter Coast. Also includes Misty Moon's mod Morrowind Re-Textured, which contains improved signs, banners, tapestires, land, items, ingredients, flora, silt striders, a smaller red crosshair, Daedric menu text that changes into English on mouse over, and sharpened books, book icons, and weapons.
Better Sky by Thann
Replacing existing textures for moons, sky and stars.
Blue and Ivory Castle Texture Replacer by Sorcha Ravenlock
A texture replacer for the Imperial castle textures and the dragon statue (ONLY the dragon, the base textures and metal textures have not been modified or included). Korana made a wonderful texture replacer based on the ideas of preschool children. The result was bright and colourful, a true fairy tale castle. After a while, Sorcha found the gold and red a bit too much, so she replaced the gold and red with a more muted blue colour, in combination with the beautiful white marble Korana used. Some gold filligree has been left in place.
Clavis's Indoril Texture Replacer #1 by Clavis
Requires Tribunal
A texture replacer for the Indoril/Mournhold buildings and interiors based on Clavis's Architecture Resource Pack #1.
Common and Nordic House Replacers & Modders Resources (N1, N2, N3, and N4) by NeilV
House Replacer N1: A retexture of the external houses and accessories of the common and Nordic (not the Bloodmoon ones, only Morrowind ones) housing sets. All house textures are replaced with a light brown or brightly colored plaster texture, and all wood textures are a rich brown color. The wood texture is not included in the replacer, only the resource. Screenshots.
House Replacer N2: A retexture of the external houses and accessories of the common
and Nordic (not the Bloodmoon ones, only Morrowind ones) housing sets. All house textures are replaced with a grey/black stone and/or whitish/grey plaster. All wood textures have been blackened up to like like Tudor blackened beams. The wood texture is not included in the texture replacer, only the resource. Screenshots.
House Replacer N3: A retexture of the external houses and accessories of the common
and Nordic (not the Bloodmoon ones, only Morrowind ones) housing sets. All house textures are replaced with a light brown stone and/or creamy colored plaster. All wood textures are a rich brown color. The wood texture is not included in the texture replacer, only the resource. Screenshots.
House Replacer N4: A retexture of the external houses and accessories of the common
and Nordic (not the Bloodmoon ones, only Morrowind ones) housing sets. All house textures are replaced with a light brown stone. All wood textures are a rich brown color. The wood texture is not included in the texture replacer, only the resource. Screenshots.
Daedric Texture Replacer by Faylynn
Replaces the Daedric textures with textures designed to give Daedric ruins a darker atmosphere.
Daedric Texture Replacer by Shannon
Updated high-resolution textures for Daedric Ruins with an Aztec feel. Think Indiana Jones meets Morrowind.
Darker Morrowind by Michael 'HelioS' Bennett
This plugin endeavors to create a more foreboding and enticing atmosphere for Morrowind. It customizes Morrowind.INI, replaces almost every texture in Morrowind with darker and higher detail environment textures, significantly alters the weather and lighting for Morrowind so it is generally more appealing to the eyes (i.e fewer ash storms, more overcast weather, far fewer foggy days and more storms) and more. Screenshot Comparison
Dark Stone Imperial Texture Replacer by Korana
Replaces the existing Imperial architecture textures with new ones. These new textures are darker than the original and realistic stone, with ornate carved details on ceilings, stairs, pillars, and doorways. The Imperial shrines have also been given a face lift. Also, Imperial fireplaces have been retextured to the best of Korana's ability. There is a mesh fault with the fireplace, and it has a line down the front of it. Korana knows that the fireplaces do not seem to be used in any Imperial Castles from Morrowind, but many mods do use them. Also, she figured if Bethesda named it Imperial, it should match. There is a second option available, and wood floor texture and mesh for those that wish to use it.
Detritus' Hlaalu Retexture by Detritus2004
Replaces the original textures of the Hlaalu buildings in Balmore and Suran.
Detritus' Redoran Retexture by Detritus2004
Replace the original textures of the Redoran buildings in Ald'Ruhn, Maar Gan, etc. Doesn't affect the giant crab shell in Ald'Ruhn. Screenshots.
Dwemer Texture Replacer by Shannon
A small but sweet set of updated textures for those Dwemer Ruins.
Evil Daedric Texture Replacer by Shannon
Evil Purple Daedric Texture Replacer by Sorcha Ravenlock
A texture replacer for the Daedric Textures. It replaces the textures of the interiors and exteriors of the Deadric architecture with purple skull themed textures.
Fantasy Color Morrowind by Brash
Recolors over 1500 of the original Bethesda graphics to create a brighter, more colorful Morrowind. It is mostly intended for those who are a bit tired of too much brown. Screenshots.
Faylynn's Ancient Velothi Retexture by Faylynn
Faylynn's vision of an ancient city, the home of the living diety known as Vivec.
Faylynn's Imperial Fireplace Replacer by Faylynn
Have you ever wanted the grand fireplace to be a little grander? Faylynn did, so she made 3 slightly different versions of the Imperial fireplace that you can choose from.
Faylynn's Opulent Mournhold Texture Replacer by Faylynn
Faylynn's version of Mournhold "City of Light" "City of Magic," very opulent as she thinks Almalexia would have it.
Faylynn's Redoran Texture Replacer by Faylynn
A retexture of all Redoran buildings the way Faylynn would like to see them. Leeloo's tapestry retextures are included (in a seperate folder), as Faylynn uses them, and they go well with her textures.
Hlaalu Texture Replacers (Green, Red, or Yellow Marble) (Optional: Darker Doors Patch) by Carnajo
Improves the graphics of Hlaalu Cities, such as Balmora, making them look a bit more interesting and detailed, adding variety, but without changing the original feel of Morrowind. Comes in three varieties: red, yellow, and green marble. They are all exactly the same except for the color of the marble slabs in the interior and exterior details. The patch does it exactly what it says: makes the Hlaalu doors darker. Screenshots.
Imperial Model Replacer by Shannon
Similar to a texture replacer, but instead it replaces the actual Imperial architectual models in the game with new retextured versions.
Imperial Castle Retexturing by Minion
Retextures the original castle texture set. The new textures are double the dimensions of the originals; however, since they are DDS and due to the fact that DDS stays compressed in memory, they should run better than the original textures.
Imperial City Texture Replacer by Carnajo
Tries to make Imperial cities, like Seyda Neen, Caldera and Ebonheart, look a bit more interesting and detailed, adding variety, without changing the feel of Morrowind. Screenshots.
Imperial Texture Replacer by NeilV
A retexture of the Imperial castle buildings and accessories. All castle textures have been replaced with a light brown stone, and all trim has been replaced with a brown/stone finish. NeilV tried to match all the colors and textures together to create a consistent effect. There is an (optional) ESP included which replaces all Imperial doors with a version that has a rich brown wood and different metal texture. There are also four alternative different colors of roof tiles to help you match the roof tiles to go with the common/Nordic houses. Screenshots.
Ivy and Stone Cottage Texture Replacer by Korana
A texture replacer that replaces the cottage/common house textures. Korana always felt that Bethesda was onto something when they placed ivy on a few buildings, but she always wanted more. She also always wanted more rustic brick and stone cottages. These textures cover cottages in ivy and moss, with rustic red bricks, dark stones, or weathered bricks. Two road textures have also been replaced: One gives the town of Caldera (and other places, possibly) a lovely traditional arched pattern, more upscale, cobblestone street, and the second gives the town of Pelagiad (and other places, possibly) a natural, round, more country like, cobblestone street. Most of the interior textures for the richer tile sets have not been redone, as Korana feels that other people have done an excellent job on them! She has redone the interior stucco to a lighter color to match the exterior, and the common stone tile has had a few textures redone, but not all.
Jarrod's Bloodmoon Texture Pack by Jarrod
Requires Bloodmoon
Retextures all of the land in the Bloodmoon expansion. The textures are very realistic and will be sure to enhance your time in Solstheim. Jarrod also highly recommends that you use his Imperial texture pack with this one as both packs mix well.
Jarrod's Imperial Texture Pack by Jarrod
Replaces the textures for almost all Imperial castle buildings with new textures. Each texture is made with a large amount of detail in them so the castles look real.
Jarrod's New Texture Mod by Jarrod
Sky texture preview video
Retextures and replaces almost all of the ground textures and some wall, floor, wood, and item textures.
Kel's Hi-Res Hlaalu Retex Pack by Keldyn
Replaces all Hlaalu textures (i.e Balmora) with new high resolution ones. Keldyn's goal was to provide sharper, more detailed textures, whilst preserving Bethesda's original design as much as possible. The textured have had weathering effects applied to simulate age, grime, etc. Mipmaps are optimized for better performance.
Korana's Redoran Textures by Korana
Retexture of Redoran interiors and exteriors. The exteriors are a \"dirty\" white, as are the interiors. The crab shell has its own interior and exterior textures, also. There are alternate versions of the crab texture included.
Landscape Remix (Optional: Tribunal and Bloodmoon versions) by Albedo
Tribunal version requires Tribunal, Bloodmoon version required Bloodmoon. Neither expansion version requires the original mod.
Upgrades the Morrowind landscape with new and rescaled textures for a better visual quality overall. Some of Bethesda's textures are retiled to a higher resolution, making them much clearer. The ^ribunal and Bloodmoon versions can be used as standalone replacers, and only replace the landscape in Mournhold and on Solstheim, respectively.
Lochnarus' Moon Replacers by Lochnarus
Included in Moons of Tamriel by Lochnarus, no longer available individually?
Three replacers that replace Morrowind's moons with Earth and Luna, Callisto and Europa, or Firon and Thule.
Magical Mournhold Texture Replacer by Korana
Makes quite a few changes to Mournhold, the most drastic being the city itself. Other areas have also been modified in some way. Sotha Sil's tileset is not modified as Korana felt that Bethesda did a good job on that.
Mixed Textures by Mixed Textures Team
French website
A collection of textures from modders such as Zuldazug, Raptre, Lord Gabryael, ayse, Qarl, Carnajo, Albedo, Minion, and others designed to make Morrowind look better using the best textures available. Screenshots.
Moons of Tamriel by Lochnarus
A 3-in-1 pack of Lochnarus' moon texture replacers. Each folder contains two separate moons, you can pick and choose which two you like out of all six sets. Contains Earth, Luna (Earth's moon), Callisto, Europa, Firon, and Thule. Firon and Thule are not real moons.
Morrowind Re-Textured by Misty Moon
Replaces the original signs, banners, tapestries, land, items, ingredients, flora, silt striders, and other things with enhanced, sharper textures. Some things are retextured, but should still maintain their original look. Screenshots.
Morrowind Visual Pack (with Nature update) by Zuldazug, Raptre, Lord Gabryael and Ayse
Nature update requires original mod.
Original Mod: Replaces many different textures in Morrowind, trying to stay close to the original textures. Ground, floor, grass, mud, wall, door, rock, crack, bark, and wood textures are some of the things that are changed. 102 textures are replaced in total. Screenshots.
Nature: Replaces 101 textures. Screenshots.
Mournhold City of Lights City of Magic Texture Replacer by NeilV
A retexture of the Mournhold houses, accessories, and walls. All house textures have been replaced with a blue marble effect in one of three shades. All metal and trim now have a gold and/or silver finish. NeilV tried to match all the colors and textures together to create a consistent effect. The sewers and caves of Mournhold do no t have their textures replaced. There is a set of alternate white marble textures for all walls and houses. This texture also has a blue marble band around the center of the walls. Screenshots.
Mournhold Texture Replacer by Sorcha Ravenlock
Requires Tribunal
A texture replacer for the Mournhold city, palace and temple textures only. The stock textures are replaced with recolored versions that are lighter and brighter. The Dwemer and sewer textures are not altered.
Ornate Hlaalu Texture Replacer by Korana
Replaces the Hlaalu textures with new, more ornate ones, while still sticking to the style of the original architecture. The new textures have a slight influence from the architectural style of the Mediterrenean. Exterior textures have been replaced for buildings, doors, and trim. Korana decided not to change the door lock textures, as other modders have done good jobs on them. Interior textures were replaced as well. There are two options for the ceilings: a richly decorated tile design in warm colors, and a rich cherry wood. Screenshots.
Redoran Texture Replacer by Carnajo
Tries to make Redoran cities, especially Ald-Ruhn, look a bit more interesting and detailed, without changing the feel of Morrowind. Screenshots.
Red Skies by Cryonaut
The world of Nirn is supposed to be an alien world. It has a different sun than Earth, and a bright red moon. In the concept art for Morrowind, this was an influence on the coloring, giving things a very exotic warm tone. In the actual game though, the skies/sunlight of Morrowind looks just like Earth (when you're not near Red Mountain, of course). This is a texture replacer and Morrowind.ini tweak that attempts to fix this by making the skies have more of an orange tone instead of blue, and the sunlight have more red in it, giving Morrowind that exotic alien glow that makes you really feel like you're on another planet. Screenshots.
Roads to Heaven by Max_AKA_Nobody
Teaser for Vivid Morrowind Repaint, but is fine on its own.
Replaces original road textures with very detailed ones ranging in resolution from 1024x1024 to 2048x2048, many generated from photos.
Telvanni Texture Replacer by Carnajo
Tries to make Telvanni cities, such as Sadrith Mora and Tel Branora, look a bit more interesting and detailed, with better textures, adding variety, without changing the feel of Morrowind. There are three alternate color textures: brown, green, and red. This texture replaces the texture of the Telvanni towers' floor and tubes, and is also found in the Telvanni council. Screenshots.
Velothi Texture Replacer by Shannon
Updated high-resolution textures for Velothi architecture.
Vibrant Morrowind by Skedye and Headlesswonder
A full texture replacement.
Vibrant Skies by Skydye
Makes the skies vibrant by adding 8 large moons and 8 small moons, and colored stars and clouds.
Visual Pack XT by Qarl
This is a package of texture files to enhance the aesthetics of Morrowind. They are high-resolution textures, exceeding that of visual texture pack, to the best of Qarl's knowledge. Older machines or machines with a slower 3D graphics card may experience difficulty with this mod. Any modern machine with a graphics card made within the last two or three years should not notice any slowdown. A separate folder, Telvanni, is included which contains interior textures for Telvanni buildings. They are separated because they are radically different from the textures that came with the game. For the other textures, Qarl tried to stay close to Bethesda's original look, while improving the clarity and resolution.
Vivec Texture Replacer (Optional: Less Red Patch) by Carnajo
Tries to make Vivec look a bit more interesting, without changing the feel of Morrowind. The patch does exactly what it says: tones down the red bridges and arches giving them a lighter, brown, earthier tone. Screenshots.
Vivec/Velothi Texture Replacer by VagabondAngel
Replaces the Vivec/Velothi textures, but tries to stay with the game's ambience. VA tried to make it look like a city fit for a god, but not to "in your face." The Vivec canton symbol-plates, the Velothi door, the ancestral tombs, and the Velothi towers are also all redone to match the new textures. The larga plaza doors are retextured to match the small ones.
Vivid Morrowind Repaint by Max_AKA_Nobody
Replaces a number of landscape textures with more detailed ones of higher resolution. Some textures are based on art assets by other people who allowed their work to be used.
