How do I fix/prevent doubling?

Well, the "simple" method would just be to be extremely careful when using mods. Of course, this isn't always possible, and once doubling happens, this won't help you. There is another method, fortunately.

Wrye has written an amazingly useful program called Wrye Mash, which, among many other things, can "automatically repair game files so that doubling does not happen."
